The goal of the AMI Montessori Training Course is to prepare adults for the task of helping children develop their full human potential. It is the responsibility of the Montessori teacher to create a learning environment that will enable the child to learn and broaden his knowledge in all fields.
Language: The Course is presented in English with translation to German
Course Details
We are delighted to be able to offer our 5th AMI Montessori 3-6 Diploma in Zurich from Summer 2021.
Our trainer from the Association Montessori Internationale, Marja-Leena Tyrvaiinen will present the course.
The course hours will be from 8:30-16:30, Monday to Friday. Some Saturdays are possible. In the school weeks between the modules, classroom observations and teaching practice must be scheduled (170 hours, approx. 7-8 weeks). These are arranged individually, in consultation with the trainer. The training centre will advise on suitable placements.

In order to work successfully as a Montessori teacher it is necessary to have sufficient educational background. Recognized as such are
- A college degree for teaching Kindergarten or Elementary school
- A degree for teaching Kindergarten
- Matura
- Another college degree, preferably in pedagogy or psychology
- A completed apprenticeship
Normally, there is a requirement for a state license in teaching to be able to teach at a Montessori school after completing the course. Although this state license is not
a requirement for being admitted to the course, we do recommend that participants investigate whether such a license is needed in the country where they intend to work.
