Orientation Course
The first three years of life are crucial for human development and potential. The AMI Montessori 0-3 Orientation Course provides exciting insights into Montessori pedagogy and conveys the fundamentals of theory and practice for living and working with children from birth to age 3.

Course topics
* Montessori Theory
* Introduction to the key principles of Montessori pedagogy
* Child Development: Independence, concentration, motor skills, language, toilet training, eating and drinking, art, music, and much more
* Practical examples for applying Montessori pedagogy
* The importance of observation
* The significance of the prepared adult in theory and practice
* Knowledge and inspiration for the prepared environment
* Creating Montessori materials

A course for everyone
The AMI Montessori 0-3 Orientation Course is suitable for individuals interested in Montessori pedagogy for children from birth to age 3 who wish to learn the basics. In particular:
* Care Professionals
* All daycare staff
* Caregivers (daycare providers, grandparents etc.)
* Playgroup leaders
* (Expecting) parents
* Anyone living or working with children

Course information
COURSE DATES
The next course will take place in Autumn 2025. Dates will follow in the coming weeks. The course consists of 60 hours held on evenings and/or weekends.
COURSE LOCATION
The course will be held online via Zoom.
COURSE LANGUAGE
The course will be held in English with German translation provided.

Our trainer
Tiina Suominen comes from Finland. She obtained her AMI diploma for children aged 3-6 years in Washington D.C. in 1996 and her AMI diploma for children aged 0-3 years in Denver in 1999. She is also a trained primary school teacher running her own Montessori school in Helsinki, Finland. Tiina has continuously worked since 1996 within AMI Montessori environments (0-3 and 3-6). She received her AMI trainer status in 2018 and has since led orientation courses as well as diploma courses across the USA, Norway, Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Vietnam, and naturally here with us in Switzerland.
